Real feedback from the ChartingLens community
"The AI signals are surprisingly accurate. I've caught several trades early that ended up being solid winners. Honestly, the backtester alone is worth the premium subscription."
"I've used a lot of platforms over the years and features like the AI Chat auto-drawing support and resistance and the plain-English backtester are things I've never seen anywhere else. They genuinely feel like magic."
"The insider trading data with cluster detection is something I check every single morning now. Knowing when multiple executives are buying their own stock gives me so much more confidence in my trades."
Latest improvements and new features
The Hedge Fund Holdings sidebar gained a third view mode — Performance — that swaps the per-fund holdings list for one card per selected investor. Each card shows the manager, fund style, position count, total portfolio value, an estimated value-weighted return since the latest 13F report date (computed from the share-price-equivalent value/shares reported in the filing vs current price for every long position), a top-5 concentration donut, and a 0–100 risk score derived from the Herfindahl concentration index. Clicking a card opens a detailed modal with: a 6-cell summary strip (portfolio $, positions, largest, top-5, top-10, HHI); the headline return alongside SPY's return over the same window with the alpha delta; a half-circle Risk Profile gauge (Conservative → Balanced → Aggressive → Concentrated); a composition row of sector mix donut, market-cap distribution (Mega / Large / Mid / Small / Micro), and position-type breakdown (Long / Calls / Puts / Principal); a Style & Quality tile row of Portfolio Beta, Weighted P/E, Div Yield, Defensive % (utilities + staples + healthcare), Unprofitable %, and US Exposure; a This Quarter's Activity panel with turnover %, net buy ratio, new-buy hit rate, and three mini-tables for new buys, added to, and trimmed; a Performance Attribution panel with top 5 contributors and top 5 detractors (sorted by weight × return) plus a per-sector return-attribution bar list; and a per-stock performance table sorted by absolute weighted contribution with new positions highlighted. The return % only includes long stock positions — option premiums (puts/calls) and debt principal can't be honestly value-weighted against today's stock price using value/shares from the filing, so they're excluded from the headline number everywhere to keep the math consistent. The "% Since Filed" column was renamed to "% Since Report Date" to honestly reflect that the basis price is the quarter-end snapshot in the 13F, not the filing-acknowledgement date ~45 days later.
Multi-ticker AI comparison (new) — ask the AI for a summary across 4+ stocks ("give me a buy/sell table for EOG, WMB, EXE, TKO, VTR, LNT, WTS, AMP, LTC, PDD, UBER...") and it now fans out a full per-ticker data fetch (price, touch-based S/R with touch counts, analyst targets, growth/profitability, news headlines) in parallel for up to 20 tickers per request, instead of deep-diving on one and stubbing the rest. Previous behavior either analyzed only the first ticker or hallucinated stocks not in your list to fill out the table. Verified next-earnings dates — every stock's next earnings date in AI responses now comes from a new MarketBeat scrape (the "Upcoming Q[N] Earnings Date" section) instead of the prior calendar-events feed that frequently reflected the LAST earnings date for days or weeks after a quarter reported. The new worker endpoint rejects any past-dated result and caches at the edge for 12 hours, so the AI's "🗓 Watch For" line opens with the actual upcoming date instead of generic "upcoming earnings releases" filler. Pro subscription tier hardening — six landmines that affected paying Pro subscribers fixed: the admin "Manage Sub" panel silently downgraded Pro accounts to Premium on save (the tier dropdown didn't have a Pro option); the day-30 streak reward worker downgraded paying Pro accounts to a 7-day Premium trial state because the "is this user a real paid subscriber?" check only matched tier === 'premium'; the grandfather-to-Pro backfill migration could overwrite a confirmed Pro claim with Premium on re-run; the landing-page pricing-section hide accepted only tier === 'premium' so Pro users saw upgrade CTAs they shouldn't; a destructive symbol-switch race wiped Premium and Pro users' AI-generated indicators and backtests if they changed symbols before the subscription state finished loading on a slow connection; the server-side alert registry sync ejected paying users from email-alert delivery during the subscription-load window, silently breaking their alerts until the next save. The client also now detects a stale JWT on page load and force-refreshes if your token claims are older than Firestore's, so a tier upgrade made while the tab was closed lands immediately instead of waiting up to an hour for natural token expiry.
Strategy Simulator (new) — pick any entry strategy, any exit rules, any regime filter, run it across the full ~2,000-symbol stock universe in seconds. Live at simulator.html. Pick from RSI Oversold (30), 20-Day Breakout High, 50/200 SMA Golden Cross, or a random-entry control group. Pick your exit rules: take-profit %, stop-loss %, and max hold days. Pick an optional regime filter (SPY above its 50-SMA, SPY above its 200-SMA, QQQ above its 50-SMA, or no filter) so entries only fire when the broader market is in your chosen state. The simulator runs the full backtest worker-pool-pipelined across all 1,876 symbols, caches the bar history at the edge (Cloudflare cache, 2,000-day wide window, 7-day TTL), and returns total return, profit factor, max drawdown, win rate, average winner, average loser, and a closed-trades table you can drill into. A compare panel accumulates every run side-by-side so you can A/B different parameter combos and see which actually edges out the random-entry baseline. Sign in with your ChartingLens account to run it. Chart history extension — every timeframe now loads the maximum range available at that granularity. Daily / weekly / monthly: 10 years. 1H / 4H: 2 years. 5m / 15m / 30m: 1 month. 1m: 7 days. Compact timeframe dropdown — the floating timeframe selector with its docked / undocked / hidden modes is gone. In its place: a single text trigger at the top of the chart toolbar that shows the active timeframe ("D", "1H", "5m") and opens a dropdown of all timeframes plus Custom on click; click the trigger again to close. Always attached to the top bar; placed directly after the chart-type icon for a left-to-right flow of chart type → timeframe → indicators → replay. Top bar reorganization — the multi-chart layout selector and layout save/load buttons moved from the left cluster to the right side, immediately left of the refresh button, so all the "chart workspace" controls (layouts, refresh, multi-window) live together on the right while the per-chart controls (symbol, timeframe, indicators, replay) stay on the left. STX routing fix — searching STX in the symbol bar was silently rewriting to STXUSDT (Stacks crypto) because of a bare-symbol auto-mapping table that hijacked any short ticker overlapping a crypto name. The table is gone; every crypto symbol in the search index already has an explicit -USD or USDT suffix, so stock tickers like STX (Seagate) now resolve to the actual stock instead of being redirected to a coin.
